According to BBC Click, Researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab
have built a $500 (£312) camera that can operate at the speed of light.
The
camera is based on Time of Flight technology in which the location of
objects is calculated by measuring how long it takes a light signal to
reflect off a surface and return to the sensor.
Using
off-the-shelf parts for its construction, it is hoped that the camera
will have important applications for the medical industry.
