Spanish phone manufacturer Geeksphone is entering the wearables
market with a smartwatch capable
of tracking your sexual performance. Geeksphone has remained on the periphery of the smartphone
world, mainly getting involved in innovative projects like the
privacy-conscious Blackphone and providing the hardware for the first Firefox phones from Mozilla. Now, however, it
wants to take its consumer relationship to the next level, and get
up close and personal with your wrist in order to analyse your most
intimate data.
The Geeksme
looks to be a premium smartwatch crafted from aluminium and
sporting an OLED screen and 12 bi-colour LEDs. Like many
smartwatches before it, it will monitor steps and sleep, provide
notifications, deliver alarms and reminders and, crucially, tell
the time. However it also appears to offer two more unusual
features. The first of these is an application that will measure
your impact on the environment and tell you how you can minimise
it. The second is the aforementioned sex tracker.
"Sexual activity is also part of a healthy lifestyle," the
Geeksphone website points out. "Know your performance and track
your progress." Further information on the tracker is fairly scant for now,
although Geeksphone did tell TechCrunch
that sex mode will have to be manually activated -- should you have
the wherewithal in the heat of the moment -- and will take a
variety of measurements including calories burned and duration of
the session. Another thing that isn't quite clear is whether the "Share and
play" function, which allows you "share your achievements with
friends and challenge them to achieve new goals", is intended to be
used in conjunction with your bedroom performance data. It seems
that whether you want to gamify your love life, or just see duvet
sessions as an integral part of your exercise regime, both options
may be open to you.
