Google announced Android Studio at Google I/O 2013 as a new IDE built for Android developers to make it easier to build apps.Today, the company released version 1.0 of Android studio, marking the development environment leaving preview.

Android Studio 1.0 includes a number of new features like intelligent
code editing, user interface design tools, performance analysis and
more.
Until today, Google had been encouraging developers to use the Eclipse IDE for building Android apps, but it now offers a migration path for Eclipse users into the new Android studio environment.
The stable version of Android Studio is available here.
Google will run separate channels for Android Studio like Chrome, so
you can get bleeding edge features on the beta branch or unstable
nightly builds on the dev branch.
